Pilar chose to come to UC Berkeley because the campus gave a tour and it had a "good vibe" compared to other UC campuses.
"Every student at UC Berkeley was proud to be on the campus and I wanted to become one of those students. I wanted a home away from home, something Berkeley promised, and something Berkeley gave me."
Pilar enjoys seeing her daughter grow up and feeling accomplished and knowing she has survived another semester while being a student parent and paving a path for future student parents.
