Faunus Lucas is the father two teenagers, Robbie twelve, Amaya fourteen. When times get tough academically or otherwise, he turns to friends and family for support. “Sometimes there just isn’t enough time in the day, for me, on my own, to get it all done—assignments, shopping, cleaning, etc.”
Faunus enrolled in Modesto Junior College at the age of twenty-nine, after a fifteen year academic hiatus. In three short years, he earned an Associate of Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Science, and to his surprise, he was admitted to University of California, Berkeley.
He is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in rhetoric, and minoring in anthropology. Faunus applied to CAL as an anthropology major, but decided to declare rhetoric as his major after his first semester. He appreciates the direct access to professors that the rhetoric major provides, with the majority of the classes enrolling fewer than thirty students. Following graduation, he plans on working for a year before attending law or graduate school.
