Childcare support for student parents through CCAMPIS

May 1, 2026

The Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Program helps eligible student parents access affordable, high-quality childcare while pursuing their educational goals at UC Berkeley.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, CCAMPIS supports childcare assistance and services that help student parents navigate their academic and family responsibilities.

Childcare options and support

Through CCAMPIS, the Student Parent Center works with campus and community partners to help eligible student parents explore childcare options and potential financial assistance.

These partnerships include:

  • Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP) — Campus-affiliated early childhood education and childcare services.

  • Backup Care for Student Parents — Short-term childcare options when regular care arrangements are unavailable.

  • UC Village — Family housing community in Albany with access to nearby childcare resources.

  • Off-campus childcare providers — Potential support for families using eligible personal or community childcare arrangements.

CCAMPIS funding also helps sustain Student Parent Center services and supports students connected with the Re-entry Student Program and Cal Veteran Services Center.

Who may be eligible?

CCAMPIS support may be available to student parents who are:

  • Undergraduate students receiving Pell Grants

  • Undergraduate students who are eligible for Pell Grants but are not currently receiving them

  • Graduate students with low incomes

Eligibility, available funding, and childcare assistance are subject to program requirements.
