The road to good health is shaped by the resources and tools you access. As student parents, it is extremely important that you maintain good physical, emotional, spiritual and mental health.

We understand that student parents face psychological and emotional stressors balancing the academic and familial rigors at Cal. Many of these sympthoms are overlooked and if left unattended can spiral into a major problem. There are a number of resources that are available on campus to help alleviate academic and familial stressors.

Food Pantry Services

UC Berkeley Food Pantry offers food resources to all students and staff.

UC Village Bear Pantry offers food resources to individuals and families residing withing the Albany village.

University Health Services

University Health ServicesTang Center, provides comprehensive medical, mental health and health promotion services to all registered students.

Counseling and Psychological Services 

Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) provides comprehensive counseling services to assist students with a varity of concerns including academic success, personal development and career and life planning. The CPS office is located on the 3rd floor of the Tang Center with satellite offies throughout campus. One of their many satellite offices is located in 150 Cesar Chavez Student. If you live in the UC Village there is a counselor available by appointment and drop-in. CPS provides a variety of counseling, including groups and workshops so students can explore common concerns.

Campus Gym 

Cal Recreational Sport Facility (RSF) is decicated to enhancing the knowledge, wellness, fitness, personal skills and quality if life for students and the community. Recreational Sports teaches life-long fitness skills, leadership, management, interpersonal skills, and helps to balance the stress of studying and working in a rigorous academic environment. Membership is FREE for students. Voluntary Dependent Plan for UC Berkeley Students

SHIP offers a dependent health insurance plan for spouses, partners and children of UC Berkeley students enrolled in Berkeley SHIP. This plan is a comprehensive major medical Aetna insurance plan, providing medical, counseling, and prescription services, the dependent plan also includes dental and vision; see more details here

Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal is a public health insurance program which provides needed health care services for low-income individuals including families with children, seniors, persons with disabilities, foster care, pregnant women, and low income people with specific diseases such as tuberculosis, breast cancer or HIV/AIDS.
